[NARRATIVE #2 on July 09, 2026]

On 7/9/2026 at approximately 0059 hours, I, Officer Haven, arrived on scene to [1100 BLOCK] Campbell Ave Apt [REDACTED], in reference to a domestic disturbance.

When I arrived on scene, I could hear two subjects yelling from outside the apartment building. I could see inside the residence from outside and could see Mrs. Mekeda Hinton yelling at someone inside the residence. She then looked at us walking up and went inside the residence. I then walked inside the apartment building and began speaking with the listed victim, Mrs. [VICTIM #1].

I asked Mrs. [VICTIM #1] what was going on and she stated that we need to take her, Ms. Mekeda Hinton, to jail. She stated that she was throwing things and knocking things out of her hands. I asked her what she threw and she stated that she threw the telephone and remote control. She stated that she had already put the phone back together. She then yelled for Mrs. Hinton to come into the Livingroom.

I asked Mrs. Hinton what was going on and she stated that she has no idea. I then told her to come outside to speak with me. She then sat down at the table. I then told her to follow me outside and she asked why. I then told her because I told her to. We then exited the apartment and went into the hallway. I asked her what was going on and she stated that she stays up the same time every day and that she watched the same thing every night. She stated that she (Mrs. [VICTIM #1]) does things every once in a while, that will spook her and make her believe that she is going to cause harm to her.

I asked her what happened tonight. She stated that she woke up to see Mrs. [VICTIM #1] peeking around the corner so she reacted. She stated that Mrs. [VICTIM #1] tries to “rile her up” and “gaslight” her and makes her act crazy. I asked her how she reacted and she began to get angry and yelled “I’m not…, look” She then took a breath and stated that she was startled, upset, and angry.

I then asked Mrs. Hinton if she threw the phone and remote. Mrs. Hinton did not answer the question. Instead, she stated that Mrs. [VICTIM #1] was psychologically abusing her and that she talks really bad to her. She then just stated “Off the table then” and the stated that she looked up at Mrs. [VICTIM #1] and Mrs. [VICTIM #1] smacked her in the face. She then began to ramble about how Mrs. [VICTIM #1] was not apart of her life and that she ruins everything that she touches.

I then asked her how long had she lived at the residence and she stated that she technically does not because her name was not on the lease, but she has established a residency there. I asked her where she as when she was startled and she stated that she was on the couch in the living room.

I asked her what happened after she reacted to her grandmother and she stated that Mrs. [VICTIM #1] was just yelling that she was crazy and that she was going to the bathroom. She then stated that Mrs. [VICTIM #1] just knows how to kick her around. She then began rambling again while compulsively scratching the back of her neck. She just kept repeating that all Mrs. [VICTIM #1] does is kick her around. She then stated that Mrs. [VICTIM #1] was just wasting our time.

I then asked her why Mrs. [VICTIM #1] was accusing her of snorting drugs and she threw her arms down and stated that she has a drug problem and that we already knew that. I the told her that I did not because I have never met her. She then stated that she was talking about her family. She then began speaking about how her grandmother must have had a hard time when she was her age.

I then asked Mrs. [VICTIM #1] if she had taken anything today and she stated that she had not. I then told her that she was unsteady on her feet and that she keeps having to lean on things. She stated that was just the way that she leans and that she has been trying to train herself. I then asked her how old her grandmother was and she stated that she was 77 years old. I asked her how old she was and she stated that she was 26 years old. I then had her go and wait outside her door.

While speaking with Mrs. Hinton, she was avoiding questions, she was constantly toucher her face and head. She was agitated and had to constantly take breaths to calm herself down.

I informed Cpl Pyper of our interaction. He then spoke with Mrs. [VICTIM #1] again. After speaking with Mrs. [VICTIM #1], he had me place Mrs. Hinton in custody. I then told Mrs. Hinton that she was under arrest and that she needed to remove her bookbag from her back and place her hands behind her back. She then refused. I told her again and she just stood there. I then told her that I will place hands on her if she did not comply because she was under arrest. She then took the book bag off and placed her hands behind the back. I then handcuffed her, checked for proper fit and double locked them.

I then walked her to the vehicle. I then searched the rear of my patrol car for weapons and contraband, none were found. I then placed her in the back of my patrol car. I then transported her to the Walker County Jail. She was turned over to jail staff without further incident.
