On the above date and time I responded to the listed address in reference to a violent domestic. While enroute, dispatch advised the parties were no longer on location and the complainant was at her residence in Conyers.
The complainant, [VICTIM #1], stated that she was at [1100 BLOCK] New Lacy St, disputing with her child’s father, Charvis Grant, over child custody of their child. She stated that during the dispute Grant drew a handgun and stated that he was going to shoot her. Grant then struck her with his non gun hand in the mouth. At this point, [VICTIM #1] told Grant that she was going to call the police. Grant retreated into his residence, and she being in fear for her life, used this opportunity to flee the scene. She returned to her residence in Conyers and dialed 911.
I had Rockdale CO Sheriff Office send a deputy to make contact with [VICTIM #1]. Deputy Dockett made contact and confirmed that [VICTIM #1] did receive injuries visible and photographed the injuries and sent them to me. He also confirmed [VICTIM #1] account of events, as told to him.
I, along with responding officers, attempted to make contact with Grant at his residence at [1100 BLOCK] New Lacy Street. These attempts were unsuccessful.
Given the verbal testimony from [VICTIM #1] corroborated by the physical evidence, probable cause was established to support charges of aggravated assault and battery for Charvis Grant.
Warrants secured for Aggravated Assault and Battery Family Violence.
