On this date units were dispatched to [SINGLE DIGIT BLOCK] Rose Ison Ter. In reference to an active fight.

Upon my arrival I made contact with the caller at apt. [REDACTED] [WITNESS #1] advised that her children’s father Mr. Smith, Who was sitting next to her with a visibale swollen left eye got into a physical altercation with one of her neighbors at apt. [REDACTED] over her children. I then relocated to apt. [REDACTED] where I made contact with Mr. Edwards.

I asked Mr. Edwards what happened, He stated that he walked down the street looking for Mr. Smith after his children told him that Mr. Smith was cussing at them, he stated that they got into a verbal argument and Mr. Smith made a motion (As if he wanted to fight) and said meet me at the store (Monroe Food Mart). Edwards stated that he then drove to the store where he seen Mr. Smith standing in the parking lot with his shirt off hands out yelling at him wanting to fight. Mr. Edwards Stated that he then got out of his car and proceeded to fight Mr. [SMITH].

Mr. [EDWARDS] was then Arrested for Disorderly Conduct (Hand cuffed behind their back and checked for proper fit).

I then went back to Apt. [REDACTED] to get Mr. Smiths side of the story, Once at apt. [REDACTED] I asked Mr. Smith to explain what happened, He stated that they (Smith and Him) were in a verbal argument over their children playing in the neighborhood and the argument turned into both parties agreeing to go to the store to fight. Mr. Smith then walked up to the store and proceeded to fight Mr. Edwards. Mr. Smith was arrested for Disorderly Conduct (Hand cuffed behind their back and checked for proper fit).

Both parties were arrested for Disorderly Conduct 62-1 for agreeing to engage in mutual combat as annotated buy the city ordnance attached UNDER.

Commit an act which places another in reasonable apprehension of immediately receiving a violent injury.

(3) Intentionally make physical contact of an insulting or provoking nature with the person of another.

(4) Intentionally cause physical harm to another.

(5) Intentionally damage any property of another without consent.

(6) Without provocation, uses to another person or in such other person’s presence, opprobrious or abusive words which by their very utterance tend to incite to an immediate breach of the peace, that is to say, words which as a matter of common knowledge and under ordinary circumstances will, when used to another person or in such other person’s presence, naturally tend to provoke violent resentment, that is, words commonly called “fighting words.”
