On 08/31/2026 at 9:13 am, I CPL. Cintron #335 was dispatched to 503 North Broad Street (Churches Chicken) regarding a dispute that occurred last night.
Upon arrival, I made contact with the store manager identified as [WITNESS #1]. [WITNESS #1] gave me the following account of events:
[WITNESS #1] stated she was recently transferred to the Monroe location from Atlanta. While assuming responsibilities of the store, she began to terminate employees based on patterns of conduct and stealing. This initially led to an ex-employee identified as Sarah Taylor being terminated from the job. Sara is the daughter of Louise Taylor who is also an employee of the store.
Approximately a week after Sarah’s termination, on 08/30/2026, [WITNESS #1] stated Louise asked to come in and work an extra shift. At approximately 10:30pm [WITNESS #1] stated Louise arrived to at work while intoxicated. While at work, Louise overheard [WITNESS #1] talking about an employee stealing money from the cash register and assumed [WITNESS #1] was talking about her. Louise then began a verbal altercation with [WITNESS #1] that led to [WITNESS #1] firing Louise on the spot.
Louise exited the restaurant and began being loud and boisterous outside. [WITNESS #1] told me that Louise made various comments directed towards her at that time that made her feel unsafe. While outside Louise’s daughter Sarah arrived on scene and began to also act loud and boisterous. A short time later an employee identified as [VICTIM #1] exited the restaurant in order to de-escalate the situation and calm Louise and Sarah down.
[WITNESS #1] was able to show me video footage of the reminder of the incident. In the video, I observed a female [WITNESS #1] identified as Sarah charge at [VICTIM #1] with what appeared to be a rock. Sarah was observed throwing the rock at [VICTIM #1] and striking him in the lower portion of the body. Sarah was then observed picking the rock back up while walking towards [VICTIM #1] while [VICTIM #1] was frantically trying to avoid being struck.
Both parties were observed walking out of the view of the camera, a short time later [VICTIM #1] re-enters the camera frame walking towards Sarah as she walks away. During this time another female [WITNESS #1] identified as Louise walks towards [VICTIM #1] and attempts to strike him with a closed fist. Sarah and Louise then stayed on scene near the drive-through area yelling at employees before leaving a short time later. Based on the situation, [WITNESS #1] wished to pursue a temporary protective order against both parties. I instructed [WITNESS #1] on steps to obtain one if she wished.
I gathered all relevant information and returned to my patrol vehicle where I called [VICTIM #1] via cellphone. [VICTIM #1] corroborated the beginning portions of events, citing [WITNESS #1] transfer and how she was moving / terminating bad employees. [VICTIM #1] stated after Louise was fired, she began to be verbally aggressive and left the store. [VICTIM #1] stated he knew both Louise and Sarah and exited the store in order to calm them down.
Once outside, [VICTIM #1] stated Sarah began to argue with him stating he was picking a white girl over them. [VICTIM #1] continued to attempt to de-escalate until Sarah began chasing him with the rock. I then asked [VICTIM #1] what had happened when Louise approached him, he stated he did not know and did not realize she threw a punch in his direction. While speaking with [VICTIM #1], he stated he did wish to prosecute and had to miss work due to his leg injury. [VICTIM #1] stated he is currently walking with a limp due to the incident.
Prior to my departure, [WITNESS #1] was handed a case card and the “rock” used during the incident was found. Pictures were taken of what appeared to be a chunk of concrete curbing. The pictures and the video of the incident are attached to this report.
Based on testimonial and video evidence, I did find probable cause to take out warrants against both Sarah and Louise.
Louise Taylor will be charged with O.C.G.A 16-5-20(a) (2) Simple Assault- Due to Louise throwing a closed fist punch towards the face of [VICTIM #1] which placed him in reasonable apprehension of immediately receiving a violent injury.
Sarah Taylor will be charged with 16-5-21(a) Aggravated Assault – Due to Sara using any object (piece of concrete curbing) when used offensively against a person [VICTIM #1], is likely to or actually does result in serious bodily injury.
The warrants against Sarah and Louise are completed and signed.
