On May 3, 2026, I, Sgt. Robertson was setting at Highway 78 West and Aycock Avenue when a vehicle passed my location riding the center line of the roadway. I could hear the tires of the vehicle hit the center lane markers. I pulled out behind the vehicle on Highway 78 West and observed the vehicle in motion. The vehicle crossed over the center line of the roadway in the area of Cherry Hill.
The vehicle continued to travel west with a jerking at the wheel. The vehicle exited Highway 78 onto East Spring street. The vehicle slowed to a speed of about 30 miles per hour. The driver was still jerking at the wheel of the vehicle, I could observe the vehicle make sudden jerks to the left and right. While traveling on East Spring Street the vehicle crossed over the center lane maker with the driver side tires. I then activated my emergency equipment to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle for failure to maintain lane.
When I walked up to the driver side of the vehicle the driver was slow to let the window of the vehicle down. Once the window was down I could smell a strong odor of alcoholic beverage coming from the vehicle. I asked the driver how much she had to drink tonight and she stated that she has a few. I then called for Officer Robertson to be enroute to my location. When Officer Robertson arrived I explained to him the reason for the stop and that the driver admitted to drinking a few. He asked if I could smell the odor of alcoholic beverage coming from the vehicle and I advised him yes.
The traffic stop was turned over to Officer Robertson for DUI investigation. Officer Robertson conducted S.F.S.T’s and then arrested Ms. Greer for DUI. and failure to maintain lane. I completed the vehicle impound and released the vehicle to Taylors Wrecker Service.
