On 3/26/25 I was dispatched to Cowboy Rd in reference to a vehicle accident. Dispatch advised that the pole he hit sparked and started a fire at the scene. Before arrival dispatch advised that a witness was following the vehicle and it was leaving the scene. The witness followed the car down to Aldridge Rd and stopped as the car went on down Aldridge which is a dead end rd. When I got to Aldridge Rd Officer Miles Starling was speaking with the witness and he stated that the car went down the road. I then drove down Aldridge Rd looking for the vehicle.

I located the vehicle Parked around the 300 Block in the middle of the road. I then approached the vehicle on the driver side. I seen a male in the front seat and he was huffing a duster can. I then took the can from him and advised him to step out of the vehicle. I then advised deputy Flake to handcuff him and I advised the driver that he was under arrest. The drivers speech was thick and slpw and his eyes were dialated. Deputy Flake took the driver to his patrol truck. I then went and read the driver implied consent by card for suspects age 21 and over for blood and the driver submitted. I then read Miranda Warnings to the driver. I asked the driver about the wreck and he said that he did not knpw he was in a wreck. I then went and got the drivers mother from the 400 block of Aldridge rd and brought her to the scene to take possession of the vehicle. I then transported the driver to the hospital for a blood draw and to be medically cleared for the jail. Upon arrival the hospital staff drew the blood from the drivers left arm and placed it into a toxicology kit and sealed the kit. After the doctor cleared the driver I transported him to the Wayne County Jail.

The driver was released to the on duty jail staff and issued 2 citation for Dui and Leaving the scene of an accident. I then took the blood kit to the Wayne County Jail and placed it into evidence to be sent to the crime lab for testing.
