[NARRATIVE #1 on September 17, 2026]

On 09/17/2026 at approximately 1524 hours, Deputy Crane was dispatched to a call in reference to a motor vehicle theft that occurred last night around 10:30 PM.

Deputy Crane met with [VICTIM #1], who was located at 515 S Pentz St, where she was picking her daughter up from daycare. [VICTIM #1] stated that the incident occurred around 10:30 PM last night on 09/16/2026, but she was unable to get away from Douglas Croy, her boyfriend, to call the police.

[VICTIM #1] stated that she was speaking on the phone with her sister when Douglas walked into the room and accused her of talking on the phone with her daughter’s biological father. [VICTIM #1] stated that she told Douglas the truth that she was speaking to her sister. [VICTIM #1] stated that Douglas pinched her and struck her several times in the stomach, her chin, and the temple of her head, which made her “see stars”. [VICTIM #1] stated that after Douglas stopped hitting her, he then took her phone from her.

[VICTIM #1] stated that Douglas later apologized and gave her the phone back after Douglas went to his uncle’s house. [VICTIM #1] stated that she then waited for him to go to sleep and was able to escape from the residence of [REDACTED].

[VICTIM #1]’s mother, [WITNESS #1], initially called the Whitfield County 911 Communications Center, where she reported that her daughter observed Douglas leave southbound on Cleveland Highway with her father’s truck. Deputy Crane initiated a BOLO (Be On The Lookout For) for the vehicle, but it was not able to be found. The vehicle information will be sent to Whitfield County Central, where it will be entered into the system as a stolen vehicle.

Deputy Crane escorted [VICTIM #1] and her daughter to the south end, where he took pictures of [VICTIM #1]’s injuries. They were left at a secured location. The photos will be uploaded to Evidence.com.

This case will be left active for further investigation by the Whitfield County Detectives.
