On 08/15/2026, I, Officer Warnack, responded to [600 BLOCK] 4th in reference to an assault that occurred. I ran code to the address at the request of EMS. Upon arrival at the address, I was informed by EMS that they had 1 male victim named [VICTIM #1] on a stretcher and 1 female victim named [VICTIM #2], who was currently sitting on the ground outside the laundry building at the apartment complex.

I called for an additional unit due to multiple people being outside needing to be interviewed. I first interviewed [VICTIM #1]. When I first approached [VICTIM #1], I observed that he had blood on his left side cheek and it was already swelling. I also observed that [VICTIM #1] had the odor of alcohol coming from his person and had slurred speech. [VICTIM #1] stated that a male named Isaiah Bennett attacked him.

[VICTIM #1] stated that they have been arguing recently. [VICTIM #1] did state that he informed Isaiah that he was “going to beat his a*s.” [VICTIM #1] stated that they began to argue shortly before Isaiah started punching him with multiple closed fist strikes to the face, which brought him to the ground. [VICTIM #1] stated that Isaiah was threatening to fight him first and has been talking “sh*t” recently. What originally started everything is unknown. [VICTIM #1] stated that he lives in [REDACTED BY AGENCY] at the complex but him and Isaiah both were outside at the laundry building. [VICTIM #1] stated that Isaiah lives in [REDACTED BY AGENCY].

I then interviewed [VICTIM #2]. [VICTIM #2] stated that she was dizzy and that her right wrist was in pain. I did not observe any marks on the right wrist, but I did observe a minor cut on her left forearm. [VICTIM #2] stated that she works at the complex and lives in [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. [VICTIM #2] stated that she heard people yelling outside, so she went down and informed the parties to stop. [VICTIM #2] stated that she then observed Isaiah sprint around the corner to go after [VICTIM #1], in which Isaiah knocked her over. [VICTIM #2] stated that the two parties began to fight from there. [VICTIM #2] stated that it was Isaiah who pushed her over and that he lives in [REDACTED BY AGENCY].

Officer Briner arrived on scene around this time, and we then went to [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. A male named [WITNESS #1] answered the door, and Isaiah came out shortly after. Officer Briner interviewed [WITNESS #1], and I interviewed Isaiah.

I would like to make note Isaiah refered to [VICTIM #1] as “Chewy” during the entire encounter. I will refer to [VICTIM #1] by his actual name for report purposes.

Isaiah stated that [VICTIM #1] and [WITNESS #1] were arguing first and they also got in a fist fight first. Isaiah stated that [VICTIM #1] has been cussing at them recently and threatening to fight them. Isaiah stated that after [WITNESS #1] and [VICTIM #1] were done fighting he went back to his apartment to get his shoes. Isaiah stated once he got his shoes he then ran out of the apartment to [VICTIM #1] and tackled him.

Initially Isaiah stated that he did not hit [VICTIM #1] in the face and that was [WITNESS #1]. Isaiah stated that all he did was fight with [VICTIM #1] on the ground. Isaiah stated that he put [VICTIM #1] in a rear naked choke and choked him. Isaiah had a cut on his leg which appeared to be from him scraping it on the pavement. Isaiah stated that [VICTIM #1] threatened to “kill his grandma”.

Officer Briner informed me of [WITNESS #1]’s statement. [WITNESS #1] denied having any involvement in fighting [VICTIM #1]. [WITNESS #1] stated that he did witness Isaiah and [VICTIM #1] arguing previously but didn’t see much of the event that occurred. [WITNESS #1] stated that he and Isaiah were inside the laundry room building and [VICTIM #1] was outside. [WITNESS #1] stated that he observed that Isaiah chased after [VICTIM #1].

I did not observe any marks on [WITNESS #1] to show that he was fighting. [VICTIM #1] only stated that Isaiah attacked him.

Due to Isaiah admitting to chocking [VICTIM #1], I decided to arrest him for aggravated assault by strangulation and battery for when he pushed over [VICTIM #2], causing her visible marks.

[VICTIM #1] went with EMS, and a warrant will be done for his arrest once he is out of the hospital. He will be charged with terroristic threats and acts for him admitting to threatening to fight Isaiah.

I then placed Isaiah in handcuffs and searched him in front of my patrol vehicle. I then secured him in the rear and confirmed he is a U.S. citizen. I went en route to Whitfield County Jail. Once at the jail I read Isaiah his Miranda rights. Isaiah agreed to speak with me. I asked him if he hit [VICTIM #1] in the face, and he stated that he did, but [VICTIM #1] was also punching back. I asked where [VICTIM #1] punched him, and Isaiah stated on the left lide of his face. I did not see any marks on Isaiah’s face.

I secured my gun in the jail lockbox. I then brought Isaiah inside the jail. Once in the jail I completed warrantless arrest form #71348 for the charges of aggravated assault and battery.

My patrol car was searched prior to and after transport. I went back in service.
