On 2-5-26 Deputy Townsend spoke with [VICTIM #1] by phone in reference to theft and forgery.

[VICTIM #1] stated that when he reviewed his bank statement on 2-3-26 he noticed that four checks had been written from his and his wife’s ([VICTIM #2]) bank account. [VICTIM #1] stated that the value of the checks were, $1,430.01, $1,448.20, $1,482.00 and $1,482.00. [VICTIM #1] stated that the checks were made out to a male named Marcus Simons. [VICTIM #1] stated that one of the checks for $1,482.00 was written on 1-13-26 and his wifes name was forged on it. [VICTIM #1] stated that on the line where you write what the check is for it stated vehicle repairs. [VICTIM #1] advised that they bank with Truist.

This case will be left active pending further investigation.
